Indy Appeal Auction winners get 'star treatment' on London's West End

Winners watched the musical Legally Blonde then met the show's star for drinks and conversation.

Anthony Corns and his partner Danielle Murray from Runcorn in Cheshire enjoyed a night of mixing with a West End star. They were the lucky winning bidders of a Legally Blonde prize from The Children's Society's auction with the Independent.

The couple got the star treatment last Thursday at the Savoy Theatre in London. After watching the award-winning musical, they were whisked off to a nearby bar where they had drinks with the show’s leading lady, former Hollyoaks actress Carley Stenson.

'We are all supporting The Children’s Society and the fantastic work it does'

Carley said: 'I was delighted to meet the winners of the Independent's auction and part of our enjoyment was knowing that we are all supporting The Children’s Society and the fantastic work it does.'

The winners were lucky to catch the starlet while she is still playing Legally Blonde character Elle Woods. In May, Charley is moving on to play the lead role of Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical in London's Drury Lane Theatre.

Anthony said: 'It was a great show and Carley was really friendly and chatted away. She was pleased to find out that we were from her home patch, it gave us a lot to talk about. We feel we got some inside knowledge on starring in a long-running production and will be following Carley’s career closely in the future. She’s a real star.'
